Local or online management: what happens in the event of a fault?
Where a system stores its users and rights determines what remains available when a connection is lost. LoxTop and MySafe work differently in this respect.

LoxTop: management on the cabinet
LoxTop stores users, rights and events on the cabinet. A stand-alone configuration can work locally without an internet connection.
Via the local network, the administrator can open the web interface. Several cabinets can synchronise data. In the event of a network outage, local use with the stored data remains possible; synchronisation and functions that require a connection are then temporarily unavailable.
MySafe: online release via the app
MySafe uses an online service for the app. For online release, that service must be reachable.
When a lock is blocked and online release is not possible, the normal user code cannot open the lock. The chosen lock model may offer a separate local emergency procedure.
A power failure calls for a different provision
An emergency power supply or battery has a limited function and operating time. For each version, therefore, establish what remains available in the event of a power failure and how an authorised administrator can restore access.
